After nine years of serving the local Edwardsville and greater Saint Louis area with British baking and afternoon teas, the Queen’s Cuisine will open a new tea room located at 120 S Main St, Edwardsville, IL on June 17th.
The Queen’s Cuisine Tearoom will offer lunches, tea, coffee, cakes and pastries Friday and Saturday (initially) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, with extended hours after the soft opening. “After nine years of selling our English pastries at farmers markets and serving afternoon teas at various locations in the area, the time has come to embark on our own storefront and move into the next chapter of our business,” Queen’s Cuisine Owner and Manager Jane Muscroft said. “Our loyal customers throughout the years have been the core influencers behind this decision, and now we will be able to better serve them.”
Since its foundation in 2007, Queen’s Cuisine has offered a product base of British baked goods with American influences at Edwardsville’s local Land of Goshen farmers market and the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market in Saint Louis.
Known for serving a wide variety of specially crafted scones, the Queen’s Cuisine also offers British specialties including Scottish shortbread, Eccles cakes, quiche, sausage rolls and Melton Mowbray pork pies. The company also offers traditional English afternoon teas, and through the years has served them at The Oatman House, The Map Room and The Fleur De Lys mansion.
The Queen’s Cuisine has been recognized in St. Louis’ Sauce magazine and featured on Great Day Saint Louis. In the United Kingdom, it has been recognized in the Leicester Mercury and Melton Times for its expansion of British baking in the American market.
The Queen’s Cuisine Tea Room will host a grand opening afternoon tea on June 12th, this event is sold out. They will then open every Friday and Saturday from 10am – 4pm as well as maintaining a presence at The Land of Goshen Community Market and Tower Grove Farmers’ Market.
