Hard Hat Construction Area – Ironworks

Coming soon, bike riders using the Madison County Transit bike trail will have easy access to Ironworks, which is located on Plum Street between Center Grove Road and Governors’ Parkway. Tenants include Sugarfire Barbecue, Global Brew, Chicken Salad Chick, and Strange Donuts. The site will consist of:

• 22,000 Square Ft.
• Multi-tenant Retail building
• A third building is planned at a later date

The City of Edwardsville Business Forecast Breakfast is an event designed to equip you with the information you can use to help predict how the national, state and local economy and leading indicators will affect your business. More importantly, this event will provide you with a longer-term look at how growth may influence Edwardsville’s economy far into the future.

Speakers:
Charles S. Gascon- Regional Economist-Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. As a regional economist, he analyzes economic conditions in the Eighth Federal Reserve District and reports on conditions to the Bank president and staff economists prior to the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings. He is responsible for writing the bank’s Beige Book report on local economic conditions and contributes to other bank publications. His work has been cited in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and in local media outlets. He is a member of the American Economic Association and the National Association for Business Economics. Gascon has a master’s degree in economics from State University of New York at Albany and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis

Dr. Timothy Sullivan-Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Department of Economics & Finance. An instructor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Dr. Sullivan received his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Maryland. His primary research interests are local economic development and statistical methods. He has performed economic impact analysis for a variety of entities, including universities, transportation infrastructure, government projects, sports facilities, and several large businesses. He has coauthored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and reports on economic impact analysis, local economic development and financing, the economics of sports, and the role of the internet in the economy.

Edwardsville Hard Hat Area-Whispering Heights as of 05/17/2019

Whispering Heights is a mixed-use planned unit development (PUD).  This (PUD) will include two 6-story buildings that will contain 152 residential units, a fitness center, leasing office and 18,190 square feet of commercial/retail space.  The new structures will be located in front of the Enclave student housing complexes off of Route 157.    This project should be completed by the 4th quarter of 2019

Hard Hat Construction Area-Building 5 Lakeview Commerce Center

Speculative industrial warehouse and distribution construction remains alive and well across the St. Louis MSA, as evidenced by the 769,000-square-foot “Building 5” in Lakeview Commerce Center that is anticipated to reach completion this summer.

Kadean Construction of Fenton is building Building 5, located in the 750-acre bulk distribution park in Edwardsville and Panattoni Development is the owner-developer. Mike Eveler, Kadean’s president, said the construction project includes 80 loading docks with clearing heights of 36 feet-Kerry Smith, Editor – St. Louis Construction News & Review Magazine
